Plot Summary: An adaptation of Ursula K. Le Guin’s novel “A Wizard of Earthsea,” the first book of the award-winning Earthsea cycle which includes “The Tombs of Atuan,” “The Farthest Shore” and “Tehanu”.

“Wizard of Earthsea” centers on Ged, who was the greatest sorcerer in all Earthsea. He was once called Sparrowhawk, a reckless youth, hungry for power and knowledge, who tampered with long-held secrets and loosed a terrible shadow upon the world.

It’s the tale of his testing, how he mastered the mighty words of power, tamed an ancient dragon, and crossed death’s threshold to restore the balance.

Teaser Trailer for Studio Ghibli’s The Borrowers

Studio Ghibli has made a profound mark on the world of animation and are criminally under-appreciated here in the West, and as we’re always on the look out for our next Ghibli fix the brief Japanese teaser for Karigurashi no Arrietty, translated as The Borrower Arriety,  has arrived  and though it is a teaser in the strictest sense of the word, there’s enough gorgeous artwork to whet the appetite.

Mary Norton’s series of books about a tiny family secreted beneath the floorboards, and who borrow things, have been adapted before as live action pieces and while this teaser gives virtually nothing aware it looks like Yonebayashi Hiromasa’s directorial debut bares all the hallmarks of the famous studio.

Have a look below, the film is due for a Summer 2010 release.
